 What People Say about Med-E-Ler

John,
Your wonderful customer service is greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks,
Keith

Hi John,

We have been using the Med E Lert system for several years now and have found that we can get our patients to nearly 100% medication compliance with this system.  It is truly exceptional!

“I have to tell you how great this product is. My father is 80 and has Alzheimer’s. I didn’t think he would be able to use Med-E-Lert, but he can. The alarm goes off and he’s reminded to take his pills. He just turns the unit over and the right dose drops in his hand. He can’t access any other pills until it is time for the next dose. So thank you for making my life, and his, much easier and safer.” - Cyndi, Deerfield MI

Purchased this pill dispensor to help with my elderly father who was taking his pills incorrectly...The timer and fact that you can only take the pills on the designated day is a great design..Easy to use...highly recommend it! - Joanne Lewis

Great product
I bought this for my senior father to help eliminate confusion over taking his medications. Great product!! Starightforward to set up and fill. The design prevents the possibility of taking doses out-of-order or double-dosing. I think the white lid version is best for seniors that suffer from confusion. Alarm could be louder for those that are hard-of-hearing. Great product, quick delivery, and great price. Solved our worries regarding father taking his meds correctly. Highly Recommend!! - Tom - 12/2/2009

Very pleased with the product. It works just as advertised and answered many of our problems getting my father to take his pills in a timely and sequential manner. The alarm works great and is easily heard even by someone who is hard of hearing. Just be sure to take your time when you program it initially and check that it is operating as you wish before you start using it with the patient - D. Pachelo - Colorado

A real life saver! we had problems with mom taking double doses and missing doses. This product has given us an extension on getting a service to dispense the meds. The only problem I had with it was when the batteries died after two weeks meds weren't dispensed. I know there is a error message on the screen but the screen is under the protective cover and she couldn't see it. The dispenser is easy to load and use overall. - D. Andretti.

We care for my mother-in-law which has memory loss. The item works GREAT. Wish we had found it earlier. I would recommend this item to others. - Ronald

Received Medelert for my mother in law and must say great product and great service thank you. Bob Parker UK

This gadget has been a Godsend! I help someone who has to take quite a few vital medications, in a complicated, four-times-a-day regimen. Even with the basic, non-mechanized pill organizers, it was a nightmare trying to help her remember her pill times and getting her to take the right pills at the right time without getting mixed up and either missing a dosage or taking them too close together and thus dangerously doubling dosages.
I know I sound like some TV pitchman when I say that I was skeptical about this device at first, because there are competing pill dispenser devices at four, five and even ten times the price of this that seem to do pretty much the same thing. I figured there must be some catch, or trade-off or some vital feature that this less expensive device didn’t have. But I bought one anyway and lo and behold, for my non-commercial, private home application, it works great! I load it up once per week, and I’m done!
The set-up instructions could be clearer, but I followed them carefully and got it done in about 15 minutes or less, and there will be no reason to have to ever re-set it unless the doctor changes the regimen times, which is not likely. That it is battery powered is also good. The electricity shut off during a couple storms recently but this dispenser went right ahead and did what was needed, alerting and dispensing, one less thing, a very important thing, that I didn’t have to worry about with the lights off.
I can’t tell you how much this humble device has made life easier, less frustrating–and SAFER– for myself and my friend. It does exactly what they say it does. I love it and highly recommend it.
(My gosh, I sure DO sound like some wild-eyed TV pitchman, but I guess it is that good ol’ fashioned enthuiasm for this product that compelled me to bother to write this review, knowing that if it helps others like it helped me, the world will be a happier place. Classic win-win.) - David Ciaffardini

I purchased this for my mom with short term memory loss who often could not remember if she took her pills. She lives alone and it was very worrisome for me. This pill dispenser is very sophisticated with lots of options which also makes it complicated to set up. No way an elderly person could do it themselves in my opinion. But after I set it up it totally resolved our problem! There is no way she can take pills twice which is the most dangerous situation plus I can tell if she skips a dose (she hasn’t). Any alarms set up shut off as soon as you tip the pills out. Anyway, we love it and it is well worth the cost in peace of mind. My only caution is that each pill section is not very big. In my mom’s case her pills are not large so there is plenty of room, but if taking large pills like vitamins and antibiotics there could be an issue getting them all in. I suppose you could use two sections and have them open at different times of the day to resolve the problem. Anyway, now that we have this we could not live without it! - Linda M

Great pill dispenser – Sharon Schneider – MURRIETA, CA, US
Works well for my mother who can’t remember to take her meds on time. Now we just have to be sure she takes them

Med-e-lert – beadrookie –
I recently bought this pill dispenser for my Mother. It has been such an awesome and afordable device. I had priced these units at twice the cost and really didn’t want to pay that much. I would have, for the peace of mind that it brings, but I am very happy with the cost of this one! No more ‘did she take her meds?’ She is almost 99 and lives in assisted living, but is still independent!
Awesome product~!
Thank you very much!

Mom's best helper
My mother, who lives alone with part time care providers, has difficulty with severe short term memory loss, confusing days, times etc.. The biggest worry I had was the fact that she was taking pills from her large monthly pill box on the wrong days at incorrect times or mainly not taking the medications at all.
The 'Med-e-lert' solved that problem for her, it took a few days to get use to the device alerts etc. but now she takes it everywhere, and we know now she is following the Doctor's prescribed pill consumption.
You cannot this kind of peace of mind for the money, I anticipate getting another if this one wears out and eventually one for myself.
Peter

Great Find July 1, 2010 - Sandi
I was a little skeptical at first, because this was cheaper than others I had looked at, but to my amazement I truly did find a great item.
It's compact, not so hard to set up, has a loud enough sound, and it suits my need perfectly.
My mother is 85 and is hard of hearing. She hears it from any room in the house.
The only problem we have encountered is the fact that she takes alot of medicines and on a couple of occasions a pill or two did get stuck at the bottom and they were missed. But, I now fill it a little different putting the larger pills in first and the more important pills in last. No problems since.

Works As We Hoped - Genny
This is a great product. We needed a device to serve as a reminder for a senior citizen who couldn't always remember to take her medication. The set up and refill process is more complex than she has the cognitive skills to undertake but if someone else can set it up and do the weekly refill she can independently take the medication during the week.

Med-E-Lert Automatic Pill Dispenser
I can't say enough about this little gadget except it has allowed my mom to remain in her own home and not have around the clock care. To make sure Mom gets her meds on time required that someone be in the house with her every four hours. This has allowed her more independence longer. She does need help loading it, but it really isn't too complicated. I would highly recommend this product. I have seen others which have similar features which cost hundreds of dollars more.

This is fool proof, no way to mess it up, it works great!
I got this for my 82 year old grandma, who was forgetting to take her meds, spilling her meds and sometimes double dosing. This pill dispenser is great. The timer goes off until she removes her meds, so there's no way she can forget to take them. Also the lock on it keeps her from spilling the pills. It only dipenses one dose at a time so she can't double dose on her meds. It was so easy to set up the timers. Such a great purchase, I would recommend it for anyone that takes alot of meds.

Great for Parkinson's patients
The Med-e-lert pill dispenser is really working out well. My father who suffers from Parkinson's Disease was making frequent medication errors which resulted in the family making serious adjustments to our lives in order to ensure the accuracy of his medications. I can't even go into those details, but upon finding this product, we have practically eliminated the need to have anyone at the home for pill time. I set up the dispenser with very little trouble and he has not made one error to date. If I had researched more,I may have opted for the clear cover, assuming you can see the clock and possibly the pills themselves? But no big deal. My only complaint is once you set up the alarms, you need to stick with those times. For his morning routine he sometimes sleeps in and sometimes is rearing to go bright and early. There have been times I needed to open the dispenser and get the pills out so he can take them early and then I need to be present at alarm time to turn it over/off. I am not about to change the alarm daily nor cancel it completely but I suppose it is an option. The other two times he medicates are at lunch and dinner and those times he is much more regimented. I hope our success continues and the product shows longevity.

Use for a 94 year old woman with dementia
The first day my mother in law tried to pry it open with a knife. Fortunately, she did not damage it. Now she thinks it is fabulous and is thrilled that my husband "invented" it for her.

Bought for my nephew
I bought this for my nephew. He has problems opening containers and remembering to take his meds, this is perfect, the bell reminds him and he just lifts the container and pours out his meds and the alarm stops.
It was very easy to set up and open to fill.
I priced these with other companies at anywhere from $300-$500, so the price was awesome.

Purchased for 82 yesr pld mom
I was looking for a solution for dispensing medications to my 82 year old mom with memory issues and so far this is it. Though she lives in an assisted living community, since money is tight we are trying to avoid the additional cost of $250 month they would charge to dispense her drugs to her. Though I have been setting up her morning/night pill cases for her for a couple of years, in recent months she was mixing up the pills, forgetting to take the pills, etc. We had to find another solution. I set up the dispenser for her, (it is a little complicated but nothing that reading the directions completely won't fix), described to her what she would hear and practiced with her what she needed to do when she heard the alarm. She was initially irritated that she couldn't see the pills or adjust the alarm, (not that she could have adjusted the alarm anyway because her mind is so compromised that she sometimes doesn't even know how to dial her phone), but I explained that this was a no-muss, no-fuss system for her. The first time the alarm went off she was confused for a moment and then remembered how to empty the pill chamber just as we had practiced. She was so excited she called me at home, told me it worked great and actually thanked me for buying it. She's had it for two weeks now and it is just a lifesaver. The $80 investment was worth the expense if it helps us prolong the period of time before we need to add medical assistance to her assisted living expense. Finally, I've seen some comments that the pill chambers are small. My mom takes about 8 prescribed medications and numerous vitamin and mineral supplements. I was prepared to drop some of the supplements from her regime if the space was inadequate but they all fit. I cannot recommend this product highly enough.

I purchased this item shortly after my husband had a heart attack at a very young age. I knew the meds would have to be taken at very specific times and that was crucial to him recovering while home and me having to work and take care of our kids. This pill dispenser is GREAT!! The alarm is loud enough that it will wake me up, and it is very easy to use. I do home health care and have recommended this item to many of my patients. One more thing we took it on a trip and it fell out of the cabinet in our RV and landed on the dining table this dispenser put a whole in our table that's how durable the plastic is!! The meds did not open and fall out when this fell so no worries you are only getting to the pills what ever time you program it at.

Ordered for elderly motherI ordered this product for my elderly Mother. It worked very well. Programming the system to alert at appropriate times was done easily.

Saves Confusion
I take a lot of pills at varying times during the day. This product has taken out the confusion and uncertainty I have as to whether I've taken, or need to take, my medicines. My husband is a much happier person now that all he has to do is keep it loaded, the dispenser does the rest with a reminder alert and the correct dosages ready for me to take. Buy it.

No more forgetting
We purchased this item because my mother in law has Alzheimer's and had been having a prolonged period of forgetting her medication. It was getting to the point where it was adversely affecting her health and we considered paying her residence facility to have someone go to her room to be sure she was taking her meds.....to the tune of over $400 per month!!! We figured this item would at least be worth it to try given its comparatively low cost. My mother in law has been using this for over 1 month now without any significant issues. We also ordered the spare tray from Amazon which makes preparing her medication for the next use as simple as dropping in a new tray. My wife and I are both very happy to have found this item on Amazon. This dispenser paid for itself after its first week of use and has provided us with some peace of mind. My mother in law has been taking her meds routinely now, and the alarms even help structure her day as she has difficulty telling the time of day. I very strongly recommend this product for anybody with a family member experiencing dementia or the early stages of Alzheimer's disease.

No more confusion
We ordered this pill dispenser for my grandma, who is starting to forget things and gets confused easily. She was taking her pills at the wrong time, and too many, even with a conventional pill dispenser. With the Med-e-lert, we don't have to worry anymore. It only dispenses the pills she needs at the time she's suppose to receive them. The alarm is loud enough to wake her up if she's sleeping and doesn't shut off until she has dumped the pills out of it. Excellent product for anyone that needs added security when it comes to their loved ones medications.

Really a life/ independence and diginty saver!!!
I am the primary caretaker for my grandmother. She has early dementia and chronic pain- We ran into problems not only with her not remmebering if she took her medicine but also taking more than prescribedbecause she was in pain- if the medicine didnt work fast enough..etc- I found we were actually bickering/ fighting about the meds- She would say she didnt take them but they were gone... Doctors are so careful with pain meds that I knew if she ran out early she wouldnt have any pain relief- also the increased dose made her drowsy and threw off her balance. She was still pretty independent with everything but her meds- but the meds were at the point that we were at our breakingpoint- I was literally on line in the middle of the night, crying feeling bad that whatever years my Nan had left shouldnt be in pain or arguing over medicine- i googled "elder solutions" "elder medication help" so on on and on- Finally i came across this box I ordered it right away- 5 days later my and my Nan's life was totally different!

I went and filled the box, set the alarms (4 times a day) locked the box (no more wondering which one of us had the count wrong!) and went home- I checked in all 4 times the next day- Not only did the alarms alert her without startling her but by taking the pills right on time and not waiting till the pain started she was staying ahead of the pain! I was now crying in relief- This box is great- THere was a malfunction but they found my order and sent me out a new one right away- very simple-

We have now had the box over a year- We have hired a part time PCA and there is also security in knowing her meds can not be touched by the aide- the box is locked- the aide likes it too- no worries for her!

I can not rave enough about this box- It is way too complicated for an elder to set up alone but once i set it up it is so basic she has no issues at all- and I have heard some pharmacists will fill it for you!

Do not hesitate- this saved us- I am so happy i got this box! My grandmother calls it "my little man" lol-

 This item is great!!
I love this Pill Dispenser. I purchased it for my Mother who has memory problems. Before the Med-e-lert she would miss taking her pills or double up sometimes. But this Pill Dispenser has taken care of all issues. She now takes her medicines on a regular basis and has no problems using the dispenser. Despite what others say, I did not think it was hard to set up.
I love the 28 days dispenser. She takes pills once a day, so I only have to fill it approx. once a month. I highly recommend this item.

med dispenser - no memory required!!!!!
LOVE THIS! Mom's memory is fuzzy and confusion about "did I?" or "didn't I?" take my meds this morning or this evening is a thing of the past. So liberating to set, fill, and forget for 2 weeks (morning & evening routine for Mom). A genuine answer to my prayers!

Buy without reservation! There are other brands that do the same thing and sell for right at $300 but this one does same thing for 1/3 the price.

Can't recommend it too highly.

Great way to help with medication
It's not an exagerration to say that this pill dispenser is changing my life. I'm a caregivier for a beloved relative who lives alone and 600 miles away. She suffers from moderate dementia and the after effects of a stroke. We tried many things, including pill boxs marked with days of the week. These were ineffective, as she struggled to interpret the letters on the top (Is "T" a Tuesday or a Thursday?} and often took pills in advance or out of sequence. Diffficulties in opening the small lids caused the pills to be spilled on occasion. A few times, such problems required me to drive several hundred miles to get the pills back in order.

This pill box solved all that for us. On a daily basis, the pill box rings and flashes and the correct pills are dispensed. A phone call lets me remind her how to turn off the chime - just tip the box - and to take her pills. The locking mechanism is wonderful, as it protects the pills from helpful visitors and from her own fidgeting.

I've made a couple of additions that help her use the box effectively. First, because it can be difficult to get small pills out of the dispenser, I've placed the pill box on top of a large red tray. This way, she can gently tip out her pills into the tray, reducing the risk of leaving a pill in the box. Second, I put a large brightly colored sign on the bottom of the pill box, stating "if you can see this, the box is upside down." That way, when I call, I can ask if there is a green label on her pill box. If she says no, all is well. A yes means that I should ask her to turn it over.

The only reason that this pill box is rated 4 stars instead of 5 is the difficulty in programming the box initially. No one should forego the pill box because of this difficulty, but users should be aware that it is complicated and time-comsuming. If your digital clocks often blink midnight for days after a power outage, you may wish to get help with the initial programming.

Great Product
This product is a must have for anyone who forgets to take their pills or who has a problem taking them properly. I purchased this for my dad who is 87 and has problems reading his pill bottle labels. Since he takes pills 2 times daily we can fill the dispenser for 2 weeks. It is simple to set up and the alarm is loud enough that you'll have to take the pills just to make it stop. If you need to keep pills locked this is not the product for you as the lock can be opened with your fingernail. I would recommend this highly.

Peace of Mind
After numerous attempts from pill boxes to setting up individual envelopes with my Mothers' medication. Mother would either forget or take day meds vs night meds. Yes I tried calling every day, I would be told I will take them as soon as I get of the phone- that would result in a 50/50 chance of her taking them. Since the medication wouldn't be taken in the prescribed manner more confusion than normal would result. I read the reviews thought what do I have to lose. I took my time read the instructions carefully and kept the dispenser at my home for a week to make sure it worked correctly. I introduced the dispenser to my mother stayed at the house until the pill dispenser dispensed the eve meds to show her how it operates. The bottom line this has relieved alot of stress, my mother feels like she has gained her indepence back. Quick notes I purchased solid cover no reason to confuse her by showing all the pills, ( I set it up ever 28 days) I also lock it - no access to tamper with pills or if she drops it same will not open. Regarding lock when item is shipped it is in the LOCKED position almost broke dispenser trying to open it the first time. I have never wrote a review prior but this has help me with caring for my parents well worth the money - hopefully this will help you.

quick delivery, item as advertised

The Med-e-lert Automatic Pill Dispenser works just as you expect. We have no disappointments in the operation of the dispenser or in the service we got. I would recommend this item to anyone that takes medicine regularly, but especially for those that are developing dementia. I got this for my mother. I thought I had things under control being I called her nightly to make sure she had her medicine - but she takes different medicine in the A.M. than the P.M. and I found she was taking the wrong ones at times. This eliminates the chance of this happening. Wish I had known about this long before. Thanks.

No more "Did you take your Pills" discussions

We were having issues really knowing if my mother was taking her pills at the correct times. Pride being what it is, questions just lead to disagreements. Found this product and all is well. It works great.

Very helpful to remind Mom to take her meds!

Easy to set up, alarm goes four times per day and wheel turns to dispense pills. This dispenser saves me from having to call Mom 4 times a day to make sure she takes the correct medicine at the correct time. The dispenser is simple to use and very helpful. Mom has been compliant and feels good taking her meds on her own. Thank you!

My Mom

Best thing I have done for my Mom. No more problems with her medication, she now is reminded when to take her medication and there is no missing the times or amounts.
Would recomend for anyone with a ageing parent.

Order the extra cartridge

I use this mostly for supplements. Many supplements are large in size and will require you to set 2-3 alarms per day and even 4 if you are taking Fiber pills, or Large doses of fish oil etc.
Each section would fit about 1 large pills at 1,000 mg, 3 medium 500 mg, and 2 small ones like an aspirin size as well. Or a total of 3,000 mg.

If the quantity is too much for the compartment you can set two alarms back to back so one alarm at 8 am and another at 8:02 .
If the template does not work for you can flip it over and make your own on the other side. Its just a piece of paper held into place so you could actually trace your own out of some sturdy paper if your needs are very complicated.

If you take medication more than 2 times a day I highly recommend buying the extra refill cartridge. Filling this on a weekly basis can be a chore if you are dealing with a ton of medications or supplements. Its better to just load an extra cartridge and have it ready to go.
if you take medication 4 times per day you will use the cartridge in one week, if you take it 3 times per day
it will last 10 days and 2 times per day will last 2 weeks.

This did have a slight learning curve so plan to be around your loved one if its for someone else to make sure
it is not overloaded and turns smoothly or any other minor adjustments that need to be made.
I would not recommend this device for severe Dementia or Alzheimer's patients. It is good for those in beginning stages, forgetful people or those who have to take medications at precise times .

I am very happy with my purchase usually I forget to take my vitamins and supplements and they go to waste
now I am taking them faithfully . Surprisingly this has helped me to adjust my body clock by regulating my sleeping and eating times according to when I take my pills. It like having a timer telling me when to eat my lunch and I set it to take my supplements one hour before bed so I have plenty of time to wind down.

Mom regained a little independence with this jewel!,
We got this little jewel because we needed a reasonably priced solution for my moms med needs(mild alzheimer's) so that she can still live on her own but that we dont have to go over there several times a day.
You will have to read the instructions to set it up(I hate that part) & it is harder to fill than a regular 4 times a day box because I have to be careful of which slot I put it in. But in the month that we have had it, mom as not missed a single med dosage.
We use it in silent mode as the vibration of the device moving makes enough noise for her.
It gave her back an ounce of independence... and every ounce is valuable to her!

Gave my child more independence

I bought this for my 11 year old daughter. Before I bought this dispenser, I kept track of the pill time in the morning and the evenings, got the pills out, and call my daughter to make sure she took her pills on time. Now, I don't do anything but fill the dispenser. When the alarm goes off my daughter comes and gets her pills. I just let the alarm ring when she is taking a long time because she is responsible for turning it off by dumping the pills into her hand. Because the alarm rings until she gets the pills, she is pretty prompt in taking them. Since the pills that she needs to take when the alarm goes off are the only pills visible, there is no danger of her taking the wrong pills. I also no longer have the problem of forgetting to give her her pills when I am busy and not paying attention to the time

Med-e-lert Automatic Pill Dispenser is Awesome!

We purchased this for our father who has dementia/early alzheimers. We were previously using the Mon-Fri. morning and evening pill organizer, but we found he wasn't taking them when he was supposed to, or he took too many as he didn't know what day it was. He still lives independently in his own home. So it took a little getting used to for him, but now he knows when he hears the alarm go off, that it's time to take his pills. He only takes pills in the morning and bed time, so we can fill it for two weeks at a time. I think at first he wasn't sure how to stop the alarm and would bang on it, so I printed out labels in large font on the cover on what to do (WHEN ALARM SOUNDS, FLIP OVER DISPENSER POURING PILLS INTO YOUR HAND, THEN PLACE UNIT BACK ON COUNTER, TAKE YOUR PILLS!...) He seems to have it down now. I just wish the lcd display showed through the cover so you could easily check to see if the battery was getting low. I also ordered another key (company sent it to me free of charge), so that both my sister and I both have a key to fill it/monitor it for him. I would HIGHLY recommend this product!!

Automated Pill Dispenser

Works like a charm. Purchased for my 95-year old father who could never remember to take his pills on any consistent basis. This device automatically dispenses the required pills at the specified time and has an audible alarm that provides the appropriate alert. Has completely solved the "forgetfulness" problem regarding medication.

Life Saver,

This product allowed Me to breathe easier knowing that the right meds are dispensed at the right time. After several cases of my elderly parent overdosing or under dosing, I was glad to come across this product.

I have had the product for about 2 months, so I can't speak to the longevity. I am seriously considering purchasing a 2nd unit to have at the ready just in case, since We have become dependent on it.

great find

I was a little skeptical at first, because this was cheaper than others I had looked at, but to my amazement I truly did find a great item.
It's compact, not so hard to set up, has a loud enough sound, and it suits my need perfectly.

Life Saver

Purchased two of the Med-e-lert Automatic Pill Despensers. One for each of my parents. Although they are still able to care for themselves, their medication doses were confusing them to the point that they would skip and/or double dose. After setting up the pill dispensers the first time, both parents are feeling much better and more comfortable with getting their meds on time and in the right dosages.

It takes a little concentration to get the box set up right the first time but after that, it is a breeze to fill and lock each week.

Works as we hoped

This is a great product. We needed a device to serve as a reminder for a senior citizen who couldn't always remember to take her medication. The set up and refill process is more complex than she has the cognitive skills to undertake but if someone else can set it up and do the weekly refill she can independently take the medication during the week.

Great for Alzheimer's

This product solved the did-I-take-my-pills-today problem for a close relative of mine, for whom I bought it. It is surprising how many doctors prescribing medicine for Alzheimer's don't think to address the obvious compliance problem of having someone with impaired memory try to remember when to take their pills. This is the way to do it. Now I just load up the dispenser about once a week, and it rings when it's time to take the pills. It's changed helter-skelter compliance to correct compliance, and that has made a huge difference for the better.

The only real negative to report is that initial setup should probably be handled by someone fairly adept at figuring out new gadgets despite bad documentation. I nearly physically broke the device when the introductory documentation started off telling me to press a latch and open the lid. They had shipped it in a "locked" state, and the documentation doesn't mention how the lock/unlock mechanism works until much later on. One other thing that was poorly documented in the sales literature concerned the maximum number of days it can be pre-loaded for. It's good for 7 days if meds are dispensed four times a day, 14 days if meds are twice a day, and 28 days if they're once a day. (Three times a day is also possible, but slightly trickier to maintain than the other modes.)

automatic pill dispenser

I can't say enough about this little gadget except it has allowed my mom to remain in her own home and not have around the clock care. She does need help loading it, but it really isn't too complicated. I would highly recommend this product. I have seen others which have similar features which cost hundreds of dollars more.

Perfect for the elderly

I purchased this for my mom with short term memory loss who often could not remember if she took her pills. She lives alone and it was very worrisome for me. This pill dispenser is very sophisticated with lots of options which also makes it complicated to set up. No way an elderly person could do it themselves in my opinion. But after I set it up it totally resolved our problem! There is no way she can take pills twice which is the most dangerous situation plus I can tell if she skips a dose (she hasn't). Any alarms set up shut off as soon as you tip the pills out. Anyway, we love it and it is well worth the cost in peace of mind. My only caution is that each pill section is not very big. In my mom's case her pills are not large so there is plenty of room, but if taking large pills like vitamins and antibiotics there could be an issue getting them all in. I suppose you could use two sections and have them open at different times of the day to resolve the problem. Anyway, now that we have this we could not live without it!

A "Must Have" for Alzheimers/dementia caregivers.

My mother has early stage Alzheimers disease, and this automatic pill dispenser has solved a very critical problem. She would fall asleep and wake up several times during the day, and each time she would think it was a new day and take the next medications from her pill boxes. This product has solved that problem, and has actually helped her overcome a great deal of confusion. My only complaint is that the initial set-up is difficult at best, and the instructions are not intuitively easy.

Med-e-lert Automatic Pill Dispenser Success

Very pleased with the product. It works just as advertised and answered many of our problems getting my father to take his pills in a timely and sequential manner. The alarm works great and is easily heard even by someone who is hard of hearing. Just be sure to take your time when you program it initially and check that it is operating as you wish before you start using it with the patient.

Great Product

A real life saver! We had problems with mom taking double doses and missing doses. This product has given us and extension on getting a service to dispense the meds. The only problem I had with it was when the batteries died after two weeks meds weren't dispensed. I know there is a error message on the screen but the screen is under the protective cover and she couldn't see it. I will now get a higher powered battery; but still worry that when it goes out she won't realize it. The dispenser is easy to load and use overall.

wonderful pill dispensor

Purchased this pill dispensor to help with my elderly father who was taking his pills incorrectly...The timer and fact that you can only take the pills on the designated day is a great design..Easy to use...highly recommend it!

Med-E-Lert Testimonies From TabTime Sales In Uk

Hi there just a short email to let you know how pleased we are with the Medelert, Auto Pill Dispenser purchased approx 3 weeks ago .

Please believe me your product has improved the quality of life for my father who suffers from dementia , his family all  had shifts to  administrate his pills and found this very tiring however vital , we now have this phenomenal gaget that is so easy to set and operate  , this has now allowed us to send more quality time with my father and i might add he understand exactly what to do when the alarm goes as it has been made so easy for him. We can take it out with us if need be, it is light and would fit into a handbag easily .We plan to take it on holiday in Oct as there will be no fussing about with pills . Wish i found this item years ago . Thanks so much

I would like to add that i put my telephone no. on the front of the dispenser and dad calls when he has taken his medication . E McBain UK

Gave my child more independence We got this little jewel because we needed a reasonably priced solution for my moms med needs(mild alzheimer's) so that she can still live on her own but that we dont have to go over there several times a day.
We got this little jewel because we needed a reasonably priced solution for my moms med needs(mild alzheimer's) so that she can still live on her own but that we dont have to go over there several times a day.
